Dodge Coronet 440 Runs 10s but Struggles to Hook

This Dodge Coronet 440 runs in the 10-second range with an engine originally built for the street, but putting the power down is still the fight.

Street-Built 440 and 727 Combination

The Coronet uses a 440 engine originally built for the street and a 727 automatic transmission. The combination has enough power to run in the 10-second range, but getting it to hook remains the challenge. It runs a 5,500 rpm stall and a Dana 60 rear end with 4.11 gears on a small-tire setup. The owner recalls the car running approximately 10.0 seconds.
