Import vs Domestic Drag Racing Part 1 — GT-R, BMW M3, Kia Stinger & Honda vs Mopar at Toronto Motorsports Park

Import versus domestic. The debate that runs in every car community, every online forum, and every parking lot where two people who disagree about what makes a fast car have ever stood next to each other. This is Part 1 of the CJR Performance Import vs Domestic series, filmed at Toronto Motorsports Park in Cayuga, Ontario — and it documents what actually happens when the import community brings JDM, Euro, and Korean performance machines to a fully prepped NHRA-sanctioned quarter-mile drag strip and lines them up against Mopar's most powerful production vehicles.
Part 1 covers all three branches of the import performance world. From Japan — a Nissan GT-R R35 with ATTESA E-TS all-wheel drive and a twin-turbocharged VR38DETT engine, a purpose-built Honda Civic EK hatchback, and a built Honda Civic coupe. From Korea — a Kia Stinger GT running its twin-turbocharged 3.5-litre Lambda V6 against a Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat in one of the most visually striking matchups on the card: two orange cars, side by side, one Korean, one domestic. From Germany — a BMW M3 G80 with xDrive, a BMW M5 F10 with xDrive, a Mercedes-AMG C-class coupe, and a Mercedes-AMG sedan.
The domestic side answers with 717 horsepower in the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, 707 horsepower and all-wheel drive in the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, and supercharged HEMI power in both the Dodge Charger widebody drag build and the Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat. Every import brings its best technical argument. The quarter mile settles the debate run by run.
The CJR Performance Import vs Domestic 2026 event runs Saturday, May 23, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Toronto Motorsports Park in Cayuga, Ontario. Both lanes fully prepped. Get your tickets at torontomotorsportspark.com.
