This Plymouth Duster 340 Has Been a Drag Car Since 1974

This 1972 Plymouth Duster 340 has spent more than half a century at the drag strip.

Found in southern Pennsylvania, the gold Duster reportedly hasn’t been driven on the street since 1974. Its current owner knew he had to buy it because it reminded him of the same-colour Duster he owned in high school—although this is not the same car.

Factory-Based Stock Eliminator Combination

Unlike an unrestricted drag build, this Duster competes as a Stock Eliminator and must remain within strict class rules.

Its combination includes:

Factory 340 engine

ThermoQuad carburetor

904 automatic transmission

Factory rear end

Approximately 3,245 pounds with the driver

Previous 10.90-second performance, according to the owner

The goal isn’t simply to chase the quickest possible elapsed time. Consistency and staying within the Stock Eliminator rules are what matter.
